How to Choose the Dog Training Collars:

The different types of dog training collars are

Prong Collar

Choke Collar

3) The Gentle Leader and the Haiti

Before buying Dog Training Collars for your dog, first research them thoroughly so that prior to choosing one, you are sure of how to use it and in case of doubts, you may even need to consult with a dog training expert to get the choice right. Among the different types of Dog Training Collars you will find the prong collar, the Gentle Leader, the Haiti , the choke collar as well as electronic collars.

The prong collar appears to be quite painful though it in fact is not the case and such a collar is made from metal prongs that are linked to one another and when the dog owner applies pressure on this dog training collar, the dog feels a slight pinch that is very similar to how its mother would have bitten it when grabbing the pup by the scruff of his neck.

The Gentle Leader and the Haiti are designed to restrict the movement of the dog, and the philosophy behind such Dog Training Collars is that they enable you to control the dog’s head, which will automatically translate into controlling the body of the dog as well. Such Dog Training Collars are especially suited for dogs that are given to lunging and biting or otherwise being aggressive.

The choke collar is another type. But there are lots of controversies with its use because this collar is considered to be inhumane and it will torture the dogs. Its working is by tightening and loosening the leash. So always think and then buy a suitable collar for your dog and use it once you learn how to use it with the dogs.

How the Dogs help Disabled People

Dogs are always good companions for disabled people. In the past, Dos training programs are very popular. A lot of dog training schools are now offering service dog training programs to train dogs to work with people who have sight impairments, hearing impairments, mobility impairments and other disabilities. If a dog is given proper training then it will be your companion for ever.

How a Dog Training Works

All the dogs are not qualified to become a service dog. Just because you have had your dog for a long time does not really mean that your dog is qualified to become a service dog. Before your dog can qualify to become a service, dog, he or she needs to pass some tests to be administered by the service dog training center.

In case your dog does not quality to become a service dog, the training center will now look for the right dog for you. Of course you still have the option to either accept or reject the dog chosen by the training center for you so you need not worry about getting a dog that you do not really like. If you want to select your own dog, you can also do so.

If you want to select your own dog, it would be best for you to ask the help of the people from the training center already to save time and effort on your part. You can ask the people from the training center to select a t least three probably candidates for you to choose from so that whichever dog you choose, this dog is still sure to qualify for training.

Once you have selected the dog it can then be trained to help disabled people. If you use a wheelchair to move around, your dog can be trained to open doors for you, fetch things that you need and the likes.
